TLG began in Bradford in 1998: One local church became aware that young people, excluded from school, were on the streets – with a shocking trajectory of being dead before they were 40!

So TLG’s first education centre began. It was a space to feel part of somewhere safe and achieve vital qualifications to have a future. There are now 12 church-based education centres across the UK, bringing hope and a future to excluded young people.

In 2010 TLG Early Intervention was launched, enabling local churches to support struggling children in a mainstream school environment. 97% of children who have been coached say they are more hopeful about their future.

Bloxham Baptist Church is one of those churches – partnering with the Warriner School.

Our current TLG involvement – Early Intervention
One coach, one child, one hour a week.

All over the UK, children struggle for all kinds of reasons. Many families are suffering without hope. The effects of bullying, bereavement, family breakdown, poverty or being in the care system can have a huge impact on a child’s education. It may simply be a lack of confidence, the lack of positive role models, or they just need an adult to talk to. TLG Early Intervention gives the church a practical solution to support children, families and schools in their community.
