Under Data Protection legislation the church Charity Trustees of Bloxham Baptist Church are the Data Controller and the Church Secretary acts as our Data Protection Trustee.
Any information collected is to enable the church to keep in touch with you and provide pastoral support as appropriate. Data Protection legislation allows us to process this information as we regard it as being in the church’s legitimate interest.
Only with your consent will your Name, contact details and other relevant information will be entered into a database maintained within ChurchSuite (a cloud based, secure, encrypted database application). Personal data within the database is managed and controlled by designated trustees, the Children and Families Pastor and a small admin team.
My ChurchSuite is a password protected portal providing ChurchSuite users the ability to access and update their personal details and those for their children. Users can elect which elements of their contact details are visible to other users and which types of communication they wish to receive.
Anyone whose details are stored within ChurchSuite will be invited to become a user of ChurchSuite using the My ChurchSuite application.
Your details will be removed from ChurchSuite once you are no longer a member or attendee of the church – unless you ask to remain as one of our “church friends”.
ChurchSuite contact details will be used from time to time to send information by letter or email to members and regular attendees. This may include church meeting agendas, details about forthcoming events, prayer requests (with permission), birthday greetings, the weekly “What’s On” and information regarding various church rotas.
You can ask for your details to be removed at any time by contacting the Church Secretary churchsecretary@bloxhambaptist.org or by deleting your ChurchSuite account.
To enable us to provide adequate pastoral support to you and your family, one of the Pastoral Team may record information which may be regarded as sensitive. This information will be encrypted and stored on their computer or within Google’s G Suite. This information will NOT be disclosed to anyone else without your consent.
You have the right to ask to see any information we hold about you (including the pastoral support information) by submitting a ‘Subject Access Request’ to the Church Secretary. You also have the right to ask for information which you believe to be incorrect to be rectified. If you are concerned about the way your information is being handled please speak to our Data Protection Trustee. (Church Secretary) If you are still unhappy you have the right to complain to the Information Commissioners Office.
